The underwater sculptures in Cancun, Mexico by Jason deCaires Taylor

This is a series of sculptures by Jason DeCaires Taylor placed underwater off the coast of Isla de Mujeres and Cancún, Mexico. The project began in November 2009 with placement of 100 statues in shallow waters of the Cancún National Marine Park which had been previously damaged by storms.
Sculptures are created with PH-Neutral concrete and are based on members of the local community. The artist planned the sculptures are artificial reefs with fire coral planted in initial sculptures. A total of 400 sculptures is planned to be installed by the end of 2010.

This is a YouTube video of the first 3 sculptures installed.

Music: Florence and the Machine

Florence and the Machine is the recording name of Florence Welch and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music for her voice. Florence and the Machine's sound has been described as a combination of various genres, including rock and soul. The band's music has received praise across the music media before they gained mainstream success, especially from the BBC who played a large part in Florence and the Machine's rise to prominence by promoting her as part of BBC Introducing.

The band's debut album, Lungs was released on 6 July 2009, and held the No. 2 position for its first five weeks in the UK Album Chart. On 17 January 2010, the album reached No. 1 on the UK album chart, having remained in the chart for 28 consecutive weeks up until that point. At the 2010 BRITT Awards, Lungs won the "Mastercard British Album" award. My favourite on the album is Cosmic Love.

In NME Magazine, dated 20th March 2010, Welch revealed further details about her sophomore album. She confirmed she had been in the studio for "a two-week stint with producer Paul Epworth" She claims that much of the inspiration for the second album has been scientific because "a lot of her family are doctors or trying to become doctors, so much of her conversations are fixated on medical stuff." The stint in the studio resulted in two tracks being completed and a new sound being discovered, she revealed that one track that will feature on the album is called "Strangeness and Charm", which she describes as "7 minutes long and relentless". She debuted "Strangeness and Charm" on May 2nd 2010 in The Olympia Theatre, Dublin during her Cosmic Love Tour. Florence described the new sound as "dancey, but it's also dark as well" she explained that they also featured "relentless drums and heavy, droning bass." The album is due out in 2011.

On 28 April she told the BBC that the album is "ages away from finished" and that lyrical themes on the album will be less Gothic horror and more chemical. There is a song "Spectrum" "which has a lot to do with rainbows and prisms"

On 12 May, it was announced that Florence and the Machine would provide a track called "Heavy in Your Arms" for the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the The Twilight Saga (film series).
